Beating the Bomb DVD available
Beating the Bomb is a documentary charting the history of the British peace movement against the backdrop of the atomic age, framing the nuclear weapons issue within the wider context of global justice. It was produced and directed by Meera Patel and Wolfgang Matt of MADD Movies: www.maddmovies.co.uk - click on the link below
Copies of the DVD are now available for a suggested donation of £5. As well as being of interest to individual members, we hope that groups will find it a useful tool for increasing awareness through local screenings.

Medact's AGM & Conference - The Latest Pandemic: global trends in the privatisation of health services
Medact's AGM & Conference will take place on June 19th between 09.30 and 16.00hrs at Garden Court Chambers, 57-60 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London WC2A 3LJ. The Conference will discuss the global implications of the for-profit sector with a focus on the effects for the UK's NHS. Examples of public and professional responses to this increasing trend will be considered, and how opposition to this trend can be taken forward discussed. Medact NorthWest's Global Health Conference
This conference is to inspire health professionals to become interested in global health and an opportunity for those already interested in global health to learn more about how to get involved. The conference will also highlight Medact NorthWest's current campaign to improve the health of asylum seekers in the UK.
The conference will take place on Saturday 27th February between 9am and 5.30pm at King's House Conference Centre, Sydney Street, Manchester, M1 7HB. It costs £20 for health professionals to attend and £10 for students.
